Is VOA available at Shenzen airport no matter from where you are flying?

Hi,
we will be flying from Taiwan to Shenzen area for 2-3 days and then back. We are European Union citizens. I assume we can get the VOA visa, right?
Another option is to fly directly from Berlin through Bangkok or Hong Kong to Shenzen. And then back. Or to Taiwan on the way. Will we also get a VOA visa at the airport?

John, actually I'm not sure whether you can get the VOA at Shenzhen airport. To play safe, I advise you to fly from Berlin to Hong Kong and then enter Shenzhen via Luohu Port in order to get the VOA.

Shenzhen VOA is available at land and sea border crossings only. Shenzhen's 144-hour transit requires you to be traveling to a third country or region and be holding a confirmed ticket.

Hmmm… not sure, as there is such information

Shenzhen 5-day visa on arrival, also known as Shenzhen 5-day VOA, enables tourists from most countries to stay in Shenzhen for up to 5 days without applying for a regular visa. During the 5 days, tourists cannot leave Shenzhen for other mainland Chinese cities.
… The five-day VOA is available at ….. , Shenzhen Airport…

So I just wanted to confirm what I assume is right.

Hmm... Not sure whether depending on the information from a single source is the best course of action. There is virtually nowhere else on the internet that mentions the 5-day VOA at Shenzhen airport nor there is a person who got one before. On the other hand Timatic clearly mentions the 144-hour transit and one can quickly find dozens of data points suggesting the same. In conclusion, there is currently no VOA being offered at Shenzhen airport.

But it is in this website… Do you want to say it is completely untrue? I pasted a link but it was removed - it is in this website in City Guide and then Shenzhen. And then there is Visa on Arrival part. Well, I believe them.
There were not many answers to questions there, but now more and more are starting to appear. So maybe they will confirm there.
