Multiple Entry Visa

Hello,

I will be flying and staying in Shanghai for about 3 weeks. I am also planning on visiting Beijing (staying for 2 days max) and possibly taking a trip to Hong Kong (another 2 day Max). After this, I would return to Shanghai to stay for the remainder of my trip. Would a multiple entry visa be needed in this instance? If I decide not to go to Hong Kong, and only travel to Beijing, is a multiple entry visa still needed? Thank you kindly in advance.

Amanda, if you take the trip to HK, and then return to Shanghai for a stay not more than 144 hours before leaving for US, you only need a single entry visa. However, I still advise you to apply for a 10-year multiple-entry visa because the cost is the same as that for a single-entry visa.
