About:China Family Reunion Visa

Family visa for gay couple

We are a married gay couple. One European, the other Chinese. Do you think a visa application would be rejected, if we applied for a Q2 visa for the European partner to visit our family in China?

China doesn't recognize same-sex marriage so legally speaking you two do not have a familial relationship in China. However, visa issuance is at the discretion of the local consular officer who may issue you a visa based on the familial law in your country of residence.
