Criminal History Authenticated

"Applicants might be required to submit supporting documents on a case-by-case basis.
This could include a medical form and criminal history check which has been notarized and authenticated".
What does it mean to have a criminal history authenticated? And what government or private sector agency in the USA is authorized to authenticate?

Christian, you may need to get the non-criminal record from the FBI and then have it authenticated by the Chinese embassy before using it in China. If you are now in China, you can contact the US embassy in China to see if they can help with this.
