RE: Applying for a visa with a history of overstay.

Hi I overstayed my Residency Permit/visa for 1 day over 10 years ago due to a mistake my employer made at the time. I had no problem getting new Residency Permits and visas afterwards and while I was in China for another ten years. However I have returned to Australia and now I am reapplying for a new working visa. Should I bother telling the visa office (there is a question in the visa application form about this)? If I tell the visa office would it effect my ability to get a new visa?

You can explain it on the application form and it doesn't affect much.
