About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Applying for 72 hour transit visa but staying less than 24 hours

We have a layover in Beijing( USA-> Beijing->Singapore) so i know we qualify for the 72 hour transit visa. My question is if we plan to stay less than 24 hours ( only 9 hour layover) do we still need to register with a local police station.

You will be granted the 24 hour visa free transit since total time is under 24 hours. You don't need to register with police when staying under 24 hours. That's just for people do more than 24 hours and are not staying in a hotel.
