If your cruise departs on February 14 and your first port of call is Okinawa, you will be eligible for 24 or 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai area. 24 or 144 depends on your entire transit time in Shanghai, calculated from your scheduled arrival, until your scheduled departure from Shanghai. If your entire transit time is less than 24 hours, you will be eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and if your entire transit time is longer than 24 hours for just a minute, you will enjoy 144 hour visa free transit.
You should just be aware that your flight into Shanghai is not allowed to have any additional landing within mainland China and in Japan. If this condition is fulfilled, you will be definitely eligible for visa free transit in Shanghai. So, just disregard the first answer because it is definitely wrong.
You will print out your flight and cruise tickets and also your accommodation booking confirmation for your overnight in Shanghai.
