About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

LA to Shanghai to Hong Kong

I am a US passport holder traveling from LA to Shanghai (staying less then 72 hours) then flying to Hong Kong. Am I eligible?

Yes if Shanghai is your only stop in Mainland China. Since 2016 the limit has been extended to 144 hours.
