About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

Hong Kong - Day visit to Shenzhen

I will be in Hong Kong and want to visit Shenzhen for a half a day sightseeing (3 or 4 hours ) I have a British passport.

Can I cross the border without a visa, and if not is the visa free on arrival, please can you advise

Actually, you can cross the border and explore Shenzhen city, but only if you apply for a 5 day Shenzhen visa on arrival that you can obtain at three border crossings and Lo Wu / Luohu is the best and the most practical among them. Unfortunately, this visa is not free of charge. The price for UK citizens is 304 CNY, preferably payed in Chinese cash that you can obtain at many Hong Kong money changers.
