which type of visa should i apply for my one year reseach

i want to do my one year research in a research institute but F type visa is only for one month stay the other things is that my host institute can not grant me JW201 for applying X1 visa because this institute is not qualified for taking international students. please reply me.

In such a case, maybe you have to apply for a work Z visa.
