Flight from London to shanghai, then 30 hours in shanghai and leave for australia

We arrive in shanghai on a direct flight from London. Would like to have thirty hours in shanghai in booked hotel before leaving on a confirmed flight to Melbourne with qantus which goes via Hong Kong where we have two hours to change planes for our onward trip. Are we eligible for the 72 hour stop over visa.
