Transit visa

Hi all, I am currently living in Shanghai with relevant working visa. I plan to travel through Asia before returning to the Uk but I would like to return from Asia via Shanghai to collect my belongings. Has anyone done this before? I would only need 24hrs to grab my things and get on another flight back to the UK.
Thanks in advance everyone!

Yes, a lot of others have done this before. You can take a direct flight from another Asian country to Shanghai and then take a connecting flight to the UK. If you don't have layovers in other Chinese cities, you can enjoy the 144h visa-free transit in Shanghai.
