Transit through Xi’An and Shanghai

Hi all, I will travel from Japan through Xi’An and Shanghai (Will arrive at Xi’An at 17.55 and will leave from shanghai at 17.15 at tomorrow time). Will I be eligible from 24 hours free transit Visa? Thank you in advance!

No. The transit visas only permit you to move around the area surrounding your arrival port. You must arrive and depart from the same city (or in some cases region).

The answer above from tony is incorrect. You can transit without visa for up to 24 hours, from scheduled arrival time in Xi’an to scheduled departure time from Shanghai.
