About free transit free visa

Hi there,
I’m Australian citizen. I will travel to Guangzhou 72 hours and then go to Vietnam.
Do I need to apply for China visa for this case?
Or do I have free transit visa?

Helen, if you take a plane from Australia to Guangzhou and then to Vietnam, you can enjoy the 144h visa-free transit in Guangzhou.
