About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Two Layovers

I have two separate layovers a week apart, each for 22 hours. Will I be allowed multiple entries without a visa? I understand that they are both under 24 hours, but I want to ensure that I can enter a couple of times. I have a layover in Beijing on my flight from New York to Seoul, and on my return. Thank you in advance for your help!

Evan, you are definitely allowed to use two 24 hour via free transits within a week. In reality, there is no limit on how many or how often you can use this option. If you want, you can do this literally on a daily basis.

Both of your stops in Beijing are eligible for 24 hour visa free transit. You should print out your flight tickets and bring those printouts with you. Also, you should book your accommodation in Beijing in advance and to print out a confirmation of your booking accommodation. You will declare at check-in in US that you will travel to Seoul via Beijing using 24 hour visa free transit. After a short inspection, you will be allowed to board the plane.

Upon your arrival in Beijing, you will approach 24 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit and here you will enclose those printouts. After you are granted a permit, you will exit the airport.

It is the same thing for your journey back to US, but just in reverse order.
