About:Chinese Paper-cut Museum

Do I need to apply for Transit Visa having 2 layovers Kunming and Shanghai, but less than 24hrs

I am a Indian passport holder and travelling to US through from Kolkata, India. I have 2 stops in China, at Kunming ( 3 hrs ) and Shanghai (9.5 hrs). Do I need to apply for a transit visa? or I can enjoy the 24hrs TWOV rule. Also can I go out in Shanghai city tour using the overlay time?

Ari, if the time gap between the scheduled arrival and departure from China is not more than 24 hours, you can enjoy the 24hrs TWOV rule. Whether to go out and tour the city is at the discretion of the immigration officers at the airport. Anyway, you can have a try to apply for temporary stay permit in order to leave the airport.
