About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Does my itinerary qualify?

If I am in Beijing for less than 24 hours, and then I fly to Singapore with a 2-hour layover in Macau, does that qualify for one of the visa free entries? The 2 hours I will be in Macau will NOT fall within the 24 hours from the time I land in Beijing.

You are right. If you are flying on 24 or 144 hour visa free transit through Beijing and you plan to fly to Singapore via Macau, Macau is not taken into consideration because it is considered as a third country for visa free transit purposes. In reality, when you present to Chinese authorities that you will travel to Macau, for them the case is closed because when you board the flight to Macau, this is for them the same as if you were departing to some foreign country.

Kendra, by the way, you didn't mention from where will you arrive in Beijing, so that we can confirm your eligibility for 24 or 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing area.

This is perfectly fine. You are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit in Beijing and you don't need any kind of visa.
