About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

Good day. I am currently in China along with my 2 sons

We have been advised by my husband employer to apply for s2 visas and once here they will change it to an s1 visa. However now they cannot.

How do we go about changing the visa within the country?
How long can the visa be extended?
If we go to Hong Kong, how long will the visa process take?

You can try to change the S2 to S1 at local exit and entry administration by providing your passport, application, form, your husband's passport, temporary residence permit, marriage certificate, and your sons' birth certificates. If you cannot change it, you may extend it, but the extended stay duration cannot be longer than the original stay duration you get. It's possible to apply for an S1 visa in HK and it takes four working days to do this.
