About:144-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

Mexican traveling from Japan with a layover in Beijing and going to Seoul

Hi! I am SO confused with this 144 hour transit. I am traveling to Japan, staying there for a few days, than I am planning to buy a one way ticket to N=Beijing, visit the Great wall and Beijing itself, then flying out to Seoul, stay for one day and going back to Tokyo...does the 144hour free transit apply?
Thanks!!

Maria, you have created an itinerary that is perfectly eligible for 144 hour visa free transit:

Japan - Beijing - South Korea

As you can see, this is eligible for 144 hour visa free transit and you don't need any kind of visa.

All you have to do is to print out your flight tickets and have those printouts with you.

Also, you are allowed to explore quite a vast area consisting of Beijing City, Tianjin City and the entire Hebei province.

Ok...decided it is going to be to Mutianyu. If I take the 12 bus would I be able to enjoy it? I am traveling next week actually, so the hours change a little bit and see that it closes earlier. Do you think it´s enough time? Thanks again!!

You are perfectly allowed to visit Mutianyu section, but if you wish, you can also visit the sections that are much farther than Mutianyu. Anyway, Mutianyu is really a representative option for a Great Wall first-timer.

If you intend to take a public transport to Mutianyu + a walk that you will have to take at the end, you will need roughly 2.5 hours to reach the area. Essentially, if you depart at 12:00, you will be there at about 14:30 and you will have 2.5 hours to make an exploration. It is doable, but maybe it would be much better to take a tourist bus the next day departing from Dongzhimen Wai Bus Station at 08:30 that will take you directly to Mutianyu area for affordable 30 CNY.

OK, you will be the one that decides about this detail :)
