外国人停留证件 can be renewed?

My university cancelled my resident permit after I applied for quitting the study . And a 外国人停留证件 Is under processing.it need 10 days to get processed but the validity of applied 外国人停留证件 is 7 days .. and the university said I will get passport back on the 7th day when its gonna expire . So is there any way to extend this type of visa

The 外国人停留证件 may be valid from the date of issue, not the day you submit the application, so you may have enough time to leave China.

That’s not true it is issued from the day of application .and I got the passport hours before it expires..
