Im in China and need residency and work permit?

Hello, I am in China with 10 year business Visa, I have been offered a teaching job (I'm over 60) and employer is ok with that. Can I get the work visa and residency Visa while I'm in China or do I have to return to Canada (expensive and complicated). Also I my partner (Chinese national here) wants to marry,? will that also help the process??? I want to be legal but don't want to return to Canada to apply. I have all current documents here ( medical, police check, diploma etc) Thank You . Your site is a great help

William, if the employer can help you with all the documents required, it's possible to get a work visa at the local exit and entry administration. Then you can apply for a temporary residency permit with it.

You can marry in China by providing your single status certificate, passport and visa for China. You should go to the civil affairs bureau in your partner's city to register the marriage.
