About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I need to apply for China visa?

I am holding a Canadian passport. I will be on a cruise ship start from Hongkong, then to Taipei, Korea, and then to Beijing on Mar 22, arriving at 6 a.m. Ship will departs on March 24 at 6 p.m.to Seoul, Korea (total hours in Beijing is 60 hours), then back to Shanghai, China on March 28 at 6 a.m. and disembark from ship. I will stay in Shanghai on my own till March 30 and fly to Hongkong. I will have the air ticket to Hongkong. Do I need to apply visa?

You need a tourist visa because Beijing-Korea-Beijing is not transit. Make sure to get a 10-year one if you are Canadian.
