About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

What if

What if someone enters China from Country and has an onward ticket within 72 hours to Country B, but also a ticket back to Country A within 72 hours and uses that one instead?

Then you'll get catched by the immigration at the airport as you would stay illegal in China.
I wouldn't mess with chinese authorities.

You will arrested. In other words don't try it.
That used to be a thing you could do to trick authorities but they are much more sophisticated now.

Idiotic plan. You will be caught, detained, fined and banned from China at the very least. If a passenger was caught trying to deceive US immigration, they would expect unpleasant consequences. Chinese immigration will surely be even more unsympathetic.
