Transit from New Jersey (US) to Vietnam

Hi,

I am a Canadian citizen travelling from New Jersey (USA) to Beijing. I have another flight from Beijing to Vietnam within 22 hours of landing in Beijing. I was hoping to leave the airport to see the Great Wall of China and then come back to the airport for my next flight. Will I need to get a visa for this or will I be eligible for the 24 hour TWOV? These are 2 separate flights but they are within the 24 hour period. Please let me know.

Mah, you will be eligible for the 24hour twov. Separate flight tickets are acceptable. To be able to get out of the airport, you'd better prepare a hotel booking printout at hand.
