About:Visa on Arrival

Boarding Refused-Hainan Airlines-No PreBooked Visa-Visa on Arrival not allowed

Booked Hainan Airlines Cairns(CNS)-Shenzhen(SZX) return.Intended five day Visa on Arrival for stay of 143 hours just one hour short of the maximum 144hours counted from midnight on the date of arrival for train trip to Beihai for wedding on 01Dec2019.Airline Staff seemed unaware of the Visa on Arrival Scheme-I have got dual NZ&UK Passports and treated this as a transit scenario with a maximum stay of between 24 and 72hours so I was refused boarding-the situation for Chinese Visas seems quite convoluted, complicated and very opaque Henry-FarNthQLD-OZ

Henry, I hate to say, but you were already warned on this very website that you will not be able to travel to Beihai without a prearranged visa! I have clearly answered to your question and have told you that you cannot rely on any visa on arrival or visa free transit scheme, but that you have to obtain a Chinese tourist (L) visa in advance. I remember your post where you have asked about possible visa free travel to Beihai and you have received very straightforward negative answer.

Obviously, you didn't pay attention to my answer or you have simply decided to proceed regardless of it. In any case, I feel sorry for the material and emotional losses you have suffered.
