About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

30 hrs in Shanghai- need Visa?

As an American, do I need a visa if I fly into Shanghai on the 17th and leave on the 18th 30 hours later? (I think I’d be eligible for the 72 hour visa policy but it’s confusing.) I’m doing a mileage run.

You need a visa unless you are in transit to third country. Most USA mileage runners have the 10 year multiple entry visa since so many cheap Chinese flights.
