About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Multiple TWOVs on Same Trip?

I'm flying direct return from Helsinki to Guangzhou, and will be departing to either Japan (via Seoul) or to HKG since I won't be getting a full visa. Am I able to use visa free entry on the front end of my trip (for a few days, before I depart to Japan) and on the way back (staying in Guangzhou for a few days before departing for Helsinki after I return to China from Japan)? I'm a U.S. citizen.

Yes, this is a "return ticket within a return ticket" options. In reality, you will have two eligible itineraries:

Helsinki - Guangzhou - Seoul (or Hong Kong) - Japan

Japan - Seoul (or Hong Kong) - Guangzhou - Helsinki

Both of the mentioned itineraries are definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free for the entire Guangdong province.

Please, just be informed that when you travel from Guangzhou to Hong Kong, you can use plane, train or ferry, but when you fly in the opposite direction, you can only fly between the two cities.
