About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Can i work if i have J1 visa but i have a residency permit?

I came to china as a student, and a J1 visa granted me. While i was there, we file for residency permit. And now, i hold a 2yr residency permit. Cant i not finish my study? And just travel to north to work? And look for teaching job? Is that possible??

Angel, I believe you should have an X1 visa rather than the J1 visa. If you don't want to continue the study and start to work, you need to cancel your X1 visa and change it to a Z visa. However, it's not easy to do that.
