About:Requirements for Permanent Residence Permit

Retiring to China with my Chinese wife after living married in the USA for 9 years.

Wife is a Chinese citizen and carries a USA 10 year green card and a PRC passport. We married in the USA 2011 and have lived here since. Will I need to get an S1, >180 days, and renew every 180 days, until I've lived in PRC for 5 years, and then apply for permanent residence?

Howard, if you can get a Q1 visa, then you will be able to get a temporary residence permit of China, which allows you to stay in China for one year in general.

Many thanks. That answered the alternative question. Will have more questions in the New Year as the process moves on.
