Sorry didn’t include all this information
Stay in Shanghai for 2 days, NZ passport.
Only thing I’m not sure is that the HK bit is only a transit so ticketing wise in Kl to Pudong to KL

Your route is HK - Shanghai - KL and that's fine for the 144h twov.
It doesn't matter if HK is just a transit, it's your last stop before Shanghai and that's the point the immigration is looking for.0
