About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

Arrival to Hong Kong to Guanzhou to Hong Kong to Paris

Arriving Hong Kong from Hawaii, taking train from Hong Kong to Guangszhou, taking train from Guangzhou back to Hong Kong for a flight to Paris - All in less than 48 hours. Does this qualify for the 144 hour visa?

Unfortunately not. To be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit when traveling from Hong Kong or Macau to Guangdong province, you have to take a direct flight from Hong Kong to Guangzhou. This is really the only way how you can become eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Guangdong province.

To exit Guangdong province you will have to take a ferry from Shenzhen Shekou port to Macau and when you reach Macau, you can return to Hong Kong. If you need some additional explanations, here we are.
