About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

From South Korea (Seoul) to France (Paris) with a 18 hour layover at Shanghai PVG.

Hello,

I'm a French citizen flying back to my country (France) from Seoul (South Korea). I have a 18 hours layover at Shanghai PVG. To sum up my trip is ICN - PVG - CDG booked through China Eastern Airlines.
I wanted to know if prior to take my flight from Seoul I needed to apply for anything because with a 18 hour layover in Shanghai I want to go out the airport to take a rest in a hotel. Do I need to apply for any visa or permit prior to take my flight in Seoul (ICN)?

Thank you.

You don't need to do anything prior to taking your flight from Seoul. Visa is not required for your flight route and you are very likely to be allowed to get out of the airport if you have a printout of your hotel booking.

Printout? So I do need a hard copy? I cannot just go through with my smartphone and the e-mail proof?

It is highly advisable to have the printouts (hard copy) of your flight tickets with you with visible long 14 digit number of your flight. Also, it is highly advisable to have a printout (hard copy) of your accommodation booking.
