Can an X2 visa be replaced by a tourist visa?

My x2 visa will expire in two months. can I apply for a tourist visa and stay in china longer as a tourist after my visa expires?

Before your X2 visa expires, you can apply for a tourist visa at the local Exit and Entry Administration to stay longer. The new tourist visa may allow you to stay for 10 days to 30 days, depending on the stay length you get.
