About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72hours visa-free transit permit

My client is scheduling to fly from Italy to China then fly to HK and return to Italy next week, he would like to stay in China about 2 days and then fly to HK. What is the procedure for him to get the 72 hours visa-free transit permit?

The first thing you have to take care about is that his itinerary is:

Italy or elsewhere in Europe - China (but, only one stop) - Hong Kong

This itinerary will allow him to enjoy 144 hour visa free transit in the Chinese city of his choice. Again, it is allowed to have only one stop within China!

After he has booked his tickets according to above instruction, he will print his flight tickets and have those printouts with himself. Also, he will declare in Europe that he will travel to Hong Kong via X city in China using 144 hour visa free transit. After a short inspection, he will be allowed to board the plane.

Upon arrival in a Chinese city of his choice, he will approach 144 hour visa free transit where he will fill out the blue form. Again, after a short waiting, he will get a sticker in his passport (everything is free of charge) and he will be allowed to exit the airport.

Basically, this is it.

Your client is also allowed to return via China after his visit to Hong Kong:

Hong Kong - China (but, only one stop) - Italy or elsewhere in Europe

In other words, he can enjoy 144 hour visa free transit again. If he wishes, of course.
