About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

one clear answer please-)

Hi together,
i come from Germany , My Boyfriend from Spain ( Passport Argentina) we will fly in Dezember from Düsseldorf, with China Eastern to Shanghai.From 22.12 ( arriv at 23.12) and than we will fly to Taiwan at 27.12 in the morning.Till now , i never get an clear answer, if i read everthing right we both dont need an Visa, because we can take the 144 h free Visa Option. When i go to the Page online Application , i can put all my Datas biut than nothing happen?Or i have to write to China Eastern?

The page to apply in advance is rarely functional, even when it gives you the QR code the immigration people still make you fill out the form upon arrival. In summary it's best to just do upon arrival as it doesn't add much extra time to the arrival process
