About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Lax to Pvg (4-5 days) then to Sin

Hello we will be flying from LAX with US passports to PVG. We want to stay 4-5 days then fly from PVG to SIN to continue our trip. Can we do the 144 hr free visa ?
