About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Is Taiwan classified as country 'C'?

Hi,
I have confirmed ticket BUD (Budapest, Hungary) - with stopover PEK - Taipei (Taiwan) and back.
In this case, is Taiwan classified as country 'C' OR should perceived this country as the part of Mainland China?

Taiwan is definitely considered as a third country for visa free transit purposes or as you say a C country. This is the same as with Hong Kong and Macau.

To conclude, you itinerary is eligible for 24 or 144 (in relation to the length of your stay in Beijing area) hour visa free transit and you don't need any kind of visa.
