About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Visa free transit

I am travelling by cruise ship leaving from Hong Kong and our 1st stop is in Xiamen for one day (8am to 6 pm). The ship then leaves to go to the Philippines. I think that I am eligible for either a 24 free visa or the 72/144 hour free transit visa. Can you pls confirm that and if correct, do I apply when I arrive at the Xiamen sea port? I am a Canadian citizen with a valid passport. Thank you.

If your itinerary is:

Hong Kong - Xiamen - Philippines

And you don't have any other port of call between the mentioned stops, you are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you don't need any kind of visa. You will apply for a temporary entry permit at the cruise terminal upon your arrival in Xiamen. This application is free of any charge. You are advised to have your cruise ticket printed out. Beside the mentioned, you will just need your valid passport.
