About:China Transit Visa

Short round trip

I will be going to Shanghai for a 6 day trip, no other countries. Will the PRC issue a transit visa in this situation?

No, but a tourist visa is a much better deal anyway if you are a US national as it costs the same and is valid for 10 years if you have requested for it.
