About:Shanghai Travel

Flying from the USA into Shanghai, to Beijing, and then Myanmar,

and finally to Thailand and back to the states. Is it going to matter if I don't have a round trip ticket?

No, according to the situation, you need to apply for the Chinese visa in advance in your country.
