About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

do I need a visa for China when spending one day in Shanghai before boarding cruiseship

I am flying direct from Canada to Shanghai, spending one night at hotel before boarding ship. If not, what documentation is required.

Johanna, if the cruise ship directly leaves Shanghai for a third country and has not stopover in any other Chinese cities, you don't need the visa.
