About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Travel to Chongqing

Hello all,

I have flights booked to fly to Chongqing(from LAX, USA) for a wedding. Landing in Chongqing May 7th, 2020 @ 06:05am, then flying to Thailand Sunday May 10th.

I will be returning to Chongqing for a layover before I head back to the US on May 16th. Will technically be entering China twice, for short duration's. Do I need to attain a Visa, or will this travel be allowed under China/Chongqing's 144 hour visa free transit?

I'm guessing you are flying the non-stop flight on Hainan between LAX and Chongqing? Then non-stop to Thailand? Same in reverse? Then yes this is valid for visa free transit. You can get 144 hours to Thailand and the same on the way back to LAX. There is no minimum time in the third country, same day turns are allowed as each entry is evaluated separately.
