8 hours lay over

Hi I am travelling from Germany - Beijing - Philippines. I have 8 hours layover China to Philippines and would like to visit the great wall. Is it possible? For 8 hours? Under the 24 hr visa free? Thanks.

You don't need a visa. But the granting of a temporary entry permit to leave the airport is at the discretion of immigration officers on the day, and may be denied to you on an 8 hour connection.
