Pedro, you don't need any kind of visa because your itinerary is definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit. Both of us are aware that your entire transit time in China is less than 24 hours.
You will print out your flight tickets and have those printouts with you. Also, you will declare at check-in in Thailand that you will fly to US via China using 24 hour visa free transit and you will present them your flight tickets. After a short time, you will be allowed to board the plane.
Upon your arrival in Shenzhen, you will approach 24 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit that will be granted to you because your next flight will be formally a domestic one. After that, you just continue your journey toward Wuhan and New York and basically, this is it.
By the way, you should use correct terminology because this is not a "24 hour transit visa", but 24 hour visa free transit. In other words, there is no visa at all!
