Visa on Arrival in Shenzhen

Hi! I need some advice on the Visa on Arrival in Shenzhen. I have a flight from Phuket back home to London Heathrow with an 9 hour layover at Shenzhen - can I apply for a Visa on Arrival at the airport so I can roam around Shenzhen for a few hours??

Actually you can enjoy 144-hour visa-free transit in Shenzhen, which means you don't need a visa. However, your layover time is a little bit short, so I'm not sure whether the immigration officer will allow you to leave the airport.
