Travel from Hong Kong SAR to Shenzen as Australian Citizen and passport holder

How long can I stay in Shenzhen if i fly into Hong Kong but catch the train to border crossing into Shenzhen, for example Monday afternoon? I know the 72hr visa free is for flying in but the timing on flights is not good.

If your intention is limited to Shenzhen only, then your best option is to obtain a 5 day Shenzhen VOA at the border crossing. You will arrive by train to Lo Wu / Luohu border crossing and there you will apply for a Shenzhen VOA. After your Shenzhen VOA is granted to you, you will just proceed to the center of the city by metro. The price for a Shenzhen VOA for an Australian citizen is 168 CNY and most preferred method is payment in cash in Chinese currency that you can easily obtain at one of Hong Kong money changers.
