What Happens when my passport expires?

Ive been in China for 5 years now and was wondering what is the process with my work visa when my passport expires? Can I get a new passport and transfer the work visa to this while in China? Or must I leave the country and start the process all again with my new passport? Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can get a new passport and transfer the work visa to the new passport while in China.
