Visa on Arrival Hong Kong Protests

Have the recent protests in Hong Kong affected the Visa on Arrival process at all ?

I am UK citizen looking to get a VoA at Luoho or Fuitan port coming in from Hong Kong. I realise transport could be tricky at the weekend, but just wondering about the Visa process.

OK, thanks for reminding me about Fuitan, I think I used this once when I had a full visa, so I might have got mixed up!

ZUPAN, is the Futian crossing different from the Huanggang port? My understanding is that the 5 day VOA is still available 24 hours from the Huanggang port visa office.

Thanks for clarifying ZUPAN. I was confused because Huanggang is so close to Futian!

It's close, but if you want to use the MTR, then Louho is the way to go. Fuitan is connected to the MTR also, but only possible with a full visa.

Actually, the protests did not, at least so far, affected the issuing of Shenzhen VOA. Indeed, by far the best option is to obtain a Shenzhen VOA at Lo Wu / Luohu border crossing. Please, be informed that it is impossible to obtain this VOA at Futian crossing. So, you should definitely use Lo Wu / Luohu.

In case of metro/train collapse due to the protests, you can easily take a ferry (a catamaran in reality) from Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal directly to Shenzhen Shekou Ferry Port. You can obtain a VOA exactly there, but be informed about the opening hours for VOA processing: 9:00 - 13:00 & 14:30 - 17:00.

Futian border crossing, although close to Huanggang border crossing is different because you cannot apply/obtain a Shenzhen VOA there. You are right about Huanggang. You can obtain a Shenzhen VOA there. Anyway, this crossing is mostly used by those who prefer bus transport from Hong Kong to Shenzhen. If you want to use Huanggang, you are perfectly fine to do that. Anyway, skip Futian.
