About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Am I eligible?

Hi. I’m flying from Malaysia to Qing dao and will have a layover of 14/15 hours time. I will take my flight to Hong Kong after this. Do I eligible? I will wish to meet my friend in qing dao for a breakfast.
Arrival 11.15pm and departing 2.50pm later next day.
The arrival flight is based on my original country or the transit country?

Idy, recent practice by Chinese immigration indicates that Malaysian citizens are no longer eligible for 24 hour visa free transit scheme, at least at the time being. In other words, you will have to obtain a Chinese transit (G) visa in advance to perform your planned itinerary. With a visa in your passport, you will be allowed to exit the airport in Qingdao, of course.
