Stop over in Shanghai

We will be cruising into Shanghai on 3/6/2020 staying 1 night in Shanghai and flying out to Singapore on 4/6/2020. We are Australian passport holders and are staying at the Holiday In Jing'an. Are we entitled to the 144 visa?

Yes, you are, anyway, there is a couple of conditions your itinerary has to fulfill:

- Your cruise is not allowed to have its last port of call, immediately before Shanghai, in mainland China port. In other words, it is fine if your last port of call is in: Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, but it cannot be in mainland China.
- Your flight from Shanghai to Singapore is not allowed to have any additional landing of any kind within mainland China and in the country where your cruise will have its last port of call, immediately before Shanghai.

If the above mentioned easy conditions are fulfilled, then you are perfectly eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai.
